MARIGOLDS | Atelier Edition

Marigolds began with a moment of sudden aliveness.

A single bloom, placed in morning light, opened something completely — a current moving through the body, radiant and immediate. The painting arrived from that moment, carrying the energy of creative force as it moves into form.

But what emerged in the studio was not singular.

Two blooms took shape — held in relationship, each with its own center, neither dominant. The composition does not resolve into a single focal point. Instead, it rests in a living tension — a dyad, a two-fold geometry where energy moves between poles.

At the center of the painting is not a point, but a connection — the space where the two forms meet and influence one another. The eye moves between them, held in a subtle exchange rather than a fixed resting place.

The field around them is warm and luminous, infused with tones of gold, orange, and soft light. The marigolds feel both grounded and in motion, as if the energy that formed them continues to move through the space between them.

The gold leaf does not sit at the center, but gathers along the edges — holding the field, containing the energy, allowing the movement within the composition to remain alive and open.

In the Atelier Edition, each print returns to the studio to receive this element by hand, restoring the warmth and vitality of the original work.
