Open Spirit Rose was created for a doorway — a first moment of arrival.
Commissioned for the entry foyer of a healing clinic, the painting was conceived to hold each person stepping inside within a field of warmth, receptivity, and care. A space that softens. That opens. That prepares the ground for healing.
The work emerged through a process of careful attunement — studies placed into the space, a gradual tuning toward the emotional quality the room was meant to carry. Softness. Warmth. Openness. The rose that formed is luminous without demand, expansive without overwhelm. It does not call attention to itself. It holds space.
Drawing from the spirit of Peace Rose, an earlier work created for a meditation center, this piece carries a similar tenderness — a quiet radiance that meets rather than directs.
The gold leaf is integral to that presence, giving the rose its gentle glow. In the Atelier Edition, each print returns to the studio to receive this element by hand, restoring the luminosity of the original work.
