Ganesha Awakening began as a commission — and became a meditation on awakening itself.

At its center is the presence of Ganesha — not only as a figure, but as a field of intelligence that clears, opens, and reveals. The work holds the feeling of a beginning that is already supported — where obstacles give way, and a path quietly appears.

Each element of the composition carries meaning, though not all of it needs to be named. The lotus holds the ground of emergence. The nimbus opens into a wider field. The gesture of the hands, the broken tusk, the small companion at his feet — each participates in a larger language of transformation, devotion, and creative force.

This is a contemporary rendering of a timeless iconography — approached not as illustration, but as practice. The image was developed through attention, repetition, and quiet refinement, allowing the symbolic elements to come into coherence within a living field.

The gold leaf carries what words cannot fully hold — a quality of light that is both material and beyond it. In the Atelier Edition, each print returns to the studio to receive this element by hand, restoring the luminosity and presence of the original work.
