ON VIEW IN OAKLAND: ART, INSPIRATION & EVERYDAY ENCOUNTERS
Earlier this year, I was contacted by Dr. Melissa Crago, a chiropractor and art lover who happened to see one of my prints—Golden Rose—hanging in a mutual friend’s office. She reached out with a simple but heartfelt invitation: would I like to show my work in two wellness spaces she manages in Oakland? “I’m not a professional gallerist,” she told me. “This is a piece of community and a love of art for myself—and to support artists.”
I was touched.
As an artist, I’ve always been drawn to the idea of art in everyday spaces—art that lives alongside us, that we walk past, pause with, or return to unexpectedly. There’s a kind of intimacy in that. A quiet hope that something in the work might lift a person’s spirits, stir their imagination, or simply offer a moment of stillness. So I said yes.
Through spring 2026, two collections of my work are now on view at:
Life Chiropractic (Oakland, CA) — A peaceful, family-centered office offering care for all stages of life, from prenatal to elder wellness.
Vitality Sol (Oakland, CA) — A vibrant wellness and fitness studio offering advanced chiropractic, massage, and red light therapy (including the Bay Area’s only full-body 360° red light beds).
FLORAL FORMS & THE UNFOLDING OF LIGHT
At Life Chiropractic, I’ve installed four large floral paintings and three prints from my Effloressence and White Rose series. These are uplifting works, inspired by the beauty of flowers and the way they seem to mirror our own inner unfolding.
The white rose, in particular, carries a resonance of purity, awakening, and stillness. Golden Rose—one of my personal favorites—explores the dance between center and periphery, a return to alignment. It feels especially fitting in a space dedicated to healing and the nervous system. These paintings are visual meditations on blossoming—of soul into form, spirit into matter, and light rising from within.
GEOMETRY, BALANCE & THE BEAUTY OF INTERSECTIONS
At Vitality Sol, I’ve displayed six framed prints from my Geometricity: Intersection & Union series. These works explore the meeting place of vertical and horizontal lines—thresholds where opposites converge and something timeless reveals itself.
This series emerged in a burst of clarity after months of holding the vision quietly. I sketched the entire set in a single afternoon and completed eight paintings in two weeks during what I called a “painting intensive.” It was a time of immense flow and focus. Geometry, for me, is both grounding and transcendent—it evokes a state of consciousness that’s difficult to put into words, yet deeply familiar. With this series, I wanted to express that universal sense of spirit entering matter, of stillness becoming form.
THE MAGIC OF EVERYDAY BEAUTY
I’ve never been drawn to the traditional gallery route. Instead, I’ve followed the quiet path of creating art for spaces people actually live in, heal in, move in. I believe beauty has the power to transform the ordinary, to turn a moment into something sacred. If someone walking into these spaces pauses for a breath, feels uplifted, or experiences even a flicker of wonder—I feel that the work has done its part.
I’m grateful to Dr. Crago for her generous invitation, and to everyone who makes space for beauty in their everyday lives. I look forward to hearing what these paintings evoke in the people who encounter them—and to meeting more kindred spirits along the way.
If you’re local and would like to see the work in person, feel free to reach out—or simply stop by either space next time you’re nearby.
